Stones of Remembrance
It is upon such stones that men attempt to permanently etch history so they will not exist in a vacuum; it is the final statement after a lifetime of scratching out divisions upon the ground, over ephemeral time itself, merely to give their short journeys meaning, to tell others “I was here – do not forget me, do not let my brief blast dissolve into nothingness.”

I took a walky amongst a garden of stones. I saw the ghosts of people once alive, now laying in repose under tall grasses, oaks standing strong and graceful in their vigil.
Peace and curiosity, an interesting mix of feelings, filled me as I walked. My eyes searching, my camera twitchy as I searched for the photo, that one photo that would stir my imagination.
And I found this in the old Rural Cemetery in Santa Rosa.
