Ghostly Trail

When we lose these woods, we lose our soul. Not simply as individuals, but as a people.
~ Kevin Walker, These Moments Pass: Poems

I posted this image a few years ago and it's one of my favorites. I shot this while walking with my friend Carla in a park in Santa Rosa.

It was a beautiful day and perfect for a walk. I was mesmerized by the trees and how wild they were, their branches twisting and turning every whichaway. I remember commenting to Carla about the wildness of the limbs and she told me they did that to seek out the sunlight.

I liked that... it seems to me that's what we do as well. If we are listening and paying attention, we also seek out the light.
